Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity exists to join our International Logistics team based in Umhlanga. The successful candidate will report to the Logistics Manager. The main purpose of the position is to provide a supportive role to the business, by taking control of the transport data capturing on Cargowise and assisting with transport costing .

Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) Tertiary education in Supply Chain/Logistics would be advantageous Experience in a Supply Chain/Logistics environment is essential At least 2 years experience in Transport Logistics preferably imports. Sound knowledge of seafreight, import procedures, and documentation. Have an understanding of logistics and transport costs.
Key Responsibilities
Handling of Transport Data capturing in Cargowise
1) The ability to understand and handle transport data capturing on time
2) Calculate and complete transport costing sheets as per individual client’s agreed transport rates.
3) Invoice out import files (supplementary logistics and transport charges) as per client’s agreed rates and ensure all 3rd party charges have been accounted for.

Basic Financial and calculation knowledge
1) Ensure supplementary transport charges are recovered
2) Assist with updating transport costing statistics
Communicate clearly with 3rd parties and more senior team members
1) To consult regularly with Import client controllers with regard to problematic shipping documents or queries.
Skills & Competencies
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical to this position.
Ability to work to deadlines and to handle the pressure associated with this.
Good general computer literacy skills, knowledge of Cargo Wise will be a benefit.
Good and courteous communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English. Mathematical acumen to work with figures.
Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of import logistics & transport procedures. (These procedures include but are not limited to customs, harbor authorities, shipping lines, SAPS, Port Health, State Vet and Other State Departments Transporters, Warehouses, Depots etc.).
Incoterm knowledge and basic SARS knowledge is advantageous.
Being able to do work on Excel spreadsheets.
Have a thorough working knowledge of shipping documents
Ability to work in teams Result orientation
