Job Description

The HIV and Other Infectious Diseases Research Unit requires a skilled/experienced Driver to support the Operations Department and Sites with transportation of HIDRU staff, research participants, research specimens, equipment and other medical supplies to and from clinical research sites and other hospitals/clinics in the Durban region. The Driver will also provide operational support to the Durban office as well as clinical research sites in the Durban region.

Responsibilities:

Transport staff to clinical research sites in the greater KZN area and other clinical facilities
Transportation of Research Participants
Transportation of specimens, equipment and other medical supplies
Administration: filing, faxing, photocopying and report writing

Core Requirements:

Grade 12 / matric or similar relevant qualification or higher
A Code 10 manual driver’s license is essential for the above post as the incumbent will be required to drive the company vehicle when necessary. A Driver’s test will be conducted to assess competency.
Valid PDP to transport passengers
3-5 years driving experience
Sober habits
Knowledge of Durban and surrounding areas
Prepared to travel to the greater KZN area on a regular basis
Willing to work outside normal working hours when required
Computer literacy: Email, Microsoft Office
