Job Purpose
To focus on executing the objectives of the SRE strategy and contributing in resolving/improving reliability challenges within assets squad while applying Software Engineering mindset. Socialise SRE within different communities, asset squads and sessions, so that resilience is incorporated in the early stages of engineering.
Job Responsibilities

Embrace the provisioning of infrastructure using IaC, orchestration, and configuration management.
Have a good understanding of modern, cloud-centric architectures and DevOps principles.
Contribute to and support scaling out infrastructure and services to cloud platforms.
Engage with squads closely to assist with contribution of identifying opportunities and improvement.
Articulate the principles, practices and standards SRE to assets squad/Engineering Lead.
Create documentation to retain knowledge and ensure information is readily available.
Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise, see opportunities and innovate with agile thinking.
Assist in defining the service Levels which are SLOs/SLIs and SLA’s
Manage concurrent objectives and making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation for a single squad
Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives, and values
Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy

Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
BSC Computer Science, BTech, Relevant applicable Qualifications
Azure/AWS Cloud certification is preferred above the fundamentals
Preferred Certifications
One of the following certifications would be advantageous: SRE/DevOps Certification, LPI, RHCE, RHCA, MCSE, MCSD, CSM,OCAJP, SCJA,OCPJP, or any other technical certification
Minimum Experience Level
2+ years as a Software Developer in either or all of the following: Web Development, Windows Services Development, Mobile Development, Application Development, Back-end Development, Cloud Computing or
2+ years as a Systems Administrator on multiple platforms on-premise and in the CloudDevOps experience in cloud deployment
Azure and/or AWS experience
Technical / Professional Knowledge
Basic understanding of SRE and software engineering.
Understanding of agile/SAFe agile.
Experience using CI/CD tools and Understand DevOps working culture.
Familiarity with source control such as Gitlab, AzureDevOps, and Bitbucket.
Working knowledge of operating systems Linux or Windows.
Basic programming or scripting skills in Python, Bash, C#, or Java (Beginner)
